VitalBone Cancellous Chips with Vancomycin provide the clinician with a range of highly purified allograft materials, allowing safe and effective bone regeneration with structural support and the ability to target and treat bone infection.
Why Vancomycin?
Vancomycin exhibits intracellular bactericidal activity and is effective against small colony variants of Staphylococci including biofilm remnants and MRSA. It shows the least cytotoxic effect of all commonly used antibiotics and is unlikely to cause systemic side effects after local application. Vancomycin also shows poor tissue penetration, which reduces absorption into the vascular system, keeping local tissue levels high and systemic levels low
